If you can access Oscar, does that mean you are in?

Has your image thing changed when you log in? Mine has, and I don’t think its a good sign…

They said the last letters get mailed out tomorrow

Who said the last letters get mailed out tomorrow?

Hello, I’m anxiously awaiting my letter too… I can log into Oscar (it looks like anyone can) but I can’t login at the housing site or at Buzzport. When I logged in today, I also noticed the message and image at the top had changed and that 2 or 3 of the links were gone. This is really worrying me.

YES!

I’m in your exact same situation. I don’t know if they put that up for a day before putting up a congrats/sorry page, or if that IS the deny page…i’m pretty in the dark about these things.

I can still get onto Buzzport, OSCAR, etc. You can only get to the housing site if you pay the $600 deposit.

When I log in I still get the same greeting. Its getting a little old.:

Welcome George!
Thank you for your application for admission and interest in Georgia Tech. I encourage you to visit our campus to experience Georgia Tech’s atmosphere and people and discover how you can be a part of our community.

I got that message until this morning…then it cut back to the old one:

Thank you for considering Georgia Tech for your college experience. I encourage you to explore these Web pages to discover all of the exciting opportunities that await you.

I’m guessing this is…bad?

I guess we’ll just have to wait which was exactly what I hoped to avoid! Where did you find that the last letters are sent out tomorrow? I’ve combed GT’s site but I haven’t seen that.

I called their Admittance office and they told me. To sum up the convo:

Me: Yea, I got onto OSCAR and I can pay my deposit online, but I haven’t got my acceptance letter just yet…should I pay it or wait?

Her: Well, you got $250 you want to waste?

me: Huh? So anyone can… get into OSCAR?

Her: Yea, We be [sic] mailing the last letters out by tomorrow.

me: Okay…thanks

Hang Up the phone.

I can’t help but hope that everyone that access Buzzport is in. Why would they allow so many people access?

Is there anyone who can’t access Buzzport?

I can get to the payment page and believe it would let me make a payment. Why would they let you make a $600 payment for housing or a $250 admission deposit?

I can’t access Buzzport. The username is your gtID and the password is your birthday, right?

I don’t know, man…

One of my friends knows someone who got rejected, and they cannot access BuzzPort or Oscar.

I hate these stupid mood swings…one sec I’m sure I got rejected and the next I’m sure I got in. I guess this is the closest we gents will get to morning sickness.

And if you’re a female named George, you have my sincere apologies.

NO!

To get your BuzzPort name, you click the link that says get your BP name or something like that… it’s usually [first name initial][last name][some number]. And your password is mmddyy.

I’m a female!

I can still access Oscar, maybe that’s a good sign. I have those mood swings too… they really suck. I just want to know, I’ve been waiting since October.

When I tried to find my BP name, I got this message “No Data was found. Please recheck your entries and try again.” All of my entries are correct…

Navi, that was really meant for George…good to know there are women anxious about Tech! GT has the stigma ofbeing a men’s college, but that’s a load of rubbish!

My BP lookup thing comes up right…and I can still get into BP. Try using just your DOB instead of your SSN…and you’re using the name on the ap instead of a nickname, right?

Just to see if we’re in a similar applicant pool, how about we post our stats to see if we’re obviously rejectable?

GPA: 3.64
SAT: 630M 680V 670V so GT SAT=1310
Decent E/Cs
Essay on first job

I tried again using Internet Explorer instead of Firefox and I found my information. I had entered everything correctly! I was worried for a minute. I still can’t log in though. Bah! I get this message: “ERROR: username/password pair not found.” Oh well, if I’ve waited this long I caa wait a few more days!

When I visited Tech, I actually didn’t notice the male/female ratio until they mentioned it!

That’s pretty weird…I’m running Firefox too and it works perfectly for me! I had to adjust the popup filter though…did you check that?

Username: What you found out
Password: mmddyy

If that doesn’t work, snoop around the OIT site until you find a place to get a password. mmddyy worked for me… Strictly speaking, we’re not even supposed to get BuzzPort until FASET, and from what studnets have told me, it isn’t used too often either.

We’re about the same, I’d say.

GPA: 98.4 GPA, so 4.0 unweighted and a 4.1 weighted, I think. My school calculates GPA differently.
SAT: 630M 640V (640W) so GT SAT: 1270. It’s odd how close all the scores were.
Some EC’s, mainly band/orchestra related
Essay was about me willingly giving up access to my computer, TV, phone, and iPod this summer and what I learned during it, etc. It was a pretty good essay, I’d say.

Wow, if the site is doing anything, it’s gotta be to accept you! Your high GPA and gender (let’s not forget reality here…) are probably shoo-ins for Tech. Can you get onto BP or is it still being cagey?
