<p>Thank you for visiting this thread, first of all. I’ll try to be as succinct as possible, but there’s a lot of information to cram in… sorry!</p>
<p>Currently a Junior in Washington. Going to be a Senior soon.
4.0 GPA (unweighted) since Freshmen year. </p>
<p>Freshmen year:
All honors classes (except for P.E., obviously). </p>
<p>Sophomore year:
All honors classes (except for P.E., again). AP World History.</p>
<p>Junior year:
AP Literature and Composition, AP Chemistry, AP Art, AP French. </p>
<p>Senior year (the classes I’m scheduled to take):
AP Language, AP Biology, AP Art, AP Calculus.
I also plan on taking an Animation class at a local college that has the same rigor as an AP Art class on top of the AP Art class I’ll be taking at school.</p>
<p>My best SAT score was a 2180 (it’s not great… I know, I know. I’m Asian. I should to better). I haven’t taken the ACT yet because my counselor told me not to… but I think I will in October. I’m also retaking the SAT in October as well.
I’ve taken SAT Math Level I (on accident… hahah) and SAT Math Level II and SAT Chemistry as my subject tests. </p>
<p>EXTRA-CURRICULAR:

<p>I’ve done robotics since seventh grade. Started off doing FIRST Lego League (building Lego robots). I joined a high school robotics team in 8th grade after proving that I was mature enough and skilled enough to join. </p>
<p>I coordinated the robotics club’s summer camp program when I was in 8th grade, going into 9th grade. This job entailed recruiting high school mentors to teach elementary to middle school students, filling out endless paperwork (and as much as I love paper work, I learned that there IS such a thing as TOO MUCH), and making sure that the club profited from the camp. </p>
<p>I coordinated the club’s FIRST Lego League program in the fall of my 9th grade year. This job entailed recruiting high school mentors to teach middle school students, filling out even MORE paperwork, and creating a curriculum that was fast-paced enough that the students would actually have a working and running robot by the time their competition rolled around but wasn’t so grueling that the kids weren’t having fun.</p>
<p>I was elected as Chief Operations Officer of the high school robotics club as a sophomore. This job entailed coordinating all events that the robotics club hosted which involved finding student volunteers and adult chaperons, filling out paperwork (the paperwork never ends), and talking to large corporations such as Boeing and Microsoft about our club and why they should support it. </p>
<p>I coordinated the club’s FIRST Lego League program AGAIN in the fall of my 10th grade year.</p>
<p>I was a part of the club’s smaller high school team that participated in the FIRST Technical Challenge competition in the fall of my 10th grade year. </p>
<p>I coordinated the club’s FIRST Lego League program for a third time in the fall of my 11th grade year. </p>
<p>I was elected as Logistics Head of the high school robotics club as a junior. This job entailed creating a build schedule for the robot (which involved communicating with the mechanical team, the programming team, and the adult mentors that helped us out), tracking the progress of the robot, filling out paperwork (so much paperwork), and maintaining communication with the mechanical team, the programming team, the adult mentors, and the sponsors who gave us money that allowed us to build our robot. </p>
<p>I am currently coordinating the club’s summer camp program for a second time. </p>
<p>I was elected as Chief Executive Officer of the high school robotics club for next year. This job will essentially require me to be the public figure head of the club. I will be the one talking to big businesses, representing our club at any sort of public events, and I will also be planning the future of the club. I will be coming up with an extensive and maintainable business plan for all aspects of the club. </p>
<p>I’m a member of the National Honors Society, National French Honors Society, and National Art Honors Society.</p>
<p>I haven’t really joined any other clubs because I want to concentrate my efforts on making the robotics club really successful. I probably should have explored a bit more, but… I’m happy with what I’m doing in robotics. </p>
<p>MISCELLANEOUS:
I’m Korean. Born in Korea, moved here when I was 4 years old.
My family is pretty solidly middle-class. Maybe lower middle-class? </p>
<p>I would really like to attend college in California!
My “reach” school is Stanford. I’d also like to try for Scrips, USC, and… I actually don’t know many colleges, hahah. I’m interested in Biology and Fine Arts (illustration, mostly), so if you could suggest any colleges with a good science department and a great arts program, that’d be amazing. </p>
