If you did poorly in chem 140a, will you do poorly in chem 140b?

How much of the material from 140a will be carried over to 140b?

you should retain SOME of the basics, but not many details are carried over. 140B is hardcore mechanism memorization. my advice: start gathering scratch paper now. whenever you get new mechanisms, draw them over and over until you can do it from memory. in time, stuff that makes “chemical sense” will stick and you can apply this knowledge to new problems.

good luck! ochem’s a lot of fun (really). my favorite of the series was 140C.
