If you did this, then you are a sure reject

I did research and got deferred as well…

…Best of luck to all accepted for their studies at p’ton, and those to didnt make, best of luck for RD round.

From,
ari****23 (u now know who iam)

That’s something “gotinhere” left about 3 or 4 days ago…so to whomever asked if gotinhere is arihant, you were right.

Are we going to do this whole thing AGAIN??

i did research and i got in. i don’t think research is an automatic “no” from princeton. I’m really sorry that u didn’t get in and u probably deserved an acceptance, but u can never really understand why people get the decisions they do. i really wish u the best of luck wherever u go. i’m sure ur going to end up somewhere great.

why would research make princeton say “no”?

I’m pretty sure that research helps. I did research on my own but didn’t write up any papers or enter any contests, so that probably didn’t help my application much (deferred), but at least I was one of, if not the most, competent person in my college class. Research might not get you into college, but it will help you perform well in your career.

Exactly, whoamg. That’s exactly why I don’t get someone would say that research is actually detrimental to the application. Thanks for the clarification.

yeah this thread is ridiculous

I did research too, but not some grand scale 700 page thesis. I didn’t get out-right rejected, but deferred (with a roughly 15% chance of getting accepted). Well the string theory is falling out of favor in the scientific community, and I guess isn’t string theory a “theory” how did you back up your assumptions in your paper?

I wouldn’t say research is detrimental to your application. If you can show that you were truly involved then it’ll show an interest in the sciences or the specific field you have researched.

err im not sure how these conclusions are being reached but i did research (both independent for science fair and in a lab as an intern) and i was accepted so yeah…

Where are OMZ or PK when I need them to explain things?
This guy has already caused like 5 crazy things on the Princeton forum with different names. He posted different stats with like…750+ on 2 subscores and then a 300 on writing. He pretended to be gay and be in love with PK. He pretended to do all kinds of things, and he always has different usernames and different ways to get everybody all riled up.

So yeah, kraor, this thread is dumb, and it’s the SAME GUY.
So…enough.

Welll.ok guys, but tell me somebody who sent a research paper with thesis and got in!

And yes a bad resarch wont get a reward from IIT and also from Prof. Brian Flanagan.

I wonder what Courtney’s actual decision was?

hahaha if you wrote 700 pgs on the string theory and its so groundbreaking, why are you even goign to college?

coz i wanna study automation!

Courtney Sachs was accepted ED. I am a friend of hers on facebook, and she posted a message saying she got in. I don’t know if links from a logged-in facebook account work or not, but I guess you’ll have to just trust me. Here it is anyway:

Facebook;

gotinhere wasn’t able to give a link that said courtney was rejected, so I’m not sure if you can believe that…

arihant- please stop whining about the decision, reaching untrue conclusions and propagating them on this board… move on with life and work on your RD apps.

Wow, there is a possibility that Courtney Sachs could be my roommate next year. Crazy.
