If you have already taken Calc BC, will taking Calc AB count as another course?

Just wondering… Thank you!

It shouldn’t. AP Calc AB is designed to be the equivalent of a semester of college calculus, while AP Calc BC is considered the equivalent of a full year of college calculus. The AP exam is actually designed so that those taking BC will get a subscore for the first part of the test, the AB component. I guess this is done to allow partial AP credit in case the test taker doesn’t do well in the second, BC section.

Oh, really? I was thinking of taking it not really for another exam credit but mostly to boost up my GPA/class rank. Would taking it be able to do that? Kinda of like how some people take AB before BC etc.

GPA and class rank rules are school specific, and how they’re evaluated by colleges also vary school by school.
