Not always. I’ve seen questions here about whether a kid will be rescinded if he does poorly on an AP test taken at the end of senior year. He won’t.
You won’t be rescinded for poor IB results, either (at least not if you come from a U.S. high school and have all the other credentials you need). Often, your college won’t even see your IB results. (My daughter has an IB diploma, but her college never asked for proof of her score or even proof that she had completed the diploma. Since they didn’t ask, she didn’t bother to send it. Nothing happened.)
While I agree, part of me does feel that if the person asking the question is delusional enough to believe that he’s the very first person who thought of this question and is unable to do a search, that college academics might be an issue.
