if you want to do business cross with engineering, would it be good to minor in finance as an undergrad? I know its not good to major/minor in business as an undergrad.

if your school is like mine(larger engineering school), the business school requires all business majors to take a into to finance class… u should take that class and see if its worth persuing…

you’ll learn about how to value investments (stocks, bonds, projects) using the time value of money…

very useful and interesting stuff

i’m and accouting major and picked up finance as a second after taking that class

IMO, it won’t matter what you minor in if your major is in business.

No business major, MBA included, will walk into an engineering firm and demand respect, seeing how most engineering firms are full of engineers with, PEs and those without PEs have MBAs or PhDs or both.

The best route to a position that will permit you to work in engineering and business is to major in engineering, like Industrial engineering, and sag way into finance or economics, ala Robert Kaplan, through masters programs.
