Yes it is. In the 5th book, like it does every year, the sorting hat describes the quality each founder wanted in its students. This time, however, he mentions pure ancestry for Slytherin instead of ambition.</p>

This doesn’t mean you have to be of pure blood to get into Slytherin, but it definitely counts for brownie points (think about it as being “legacy” on university admissions). Belief that blood purity is important is probably a big way to tilt you towards Slytherin, too, even if you are not of pure blood yourself (look at Tom/Voldemort).</p>

<p>Never took the quiz but I think I’m ravenclaw. Our English teacher used to make the whole middle school read a different book of harry potter (6thgrade- book 1&2 7th grade- book 3 8th grade- book 4) and she would sort everyone. I was ravenclaw two years in a row the time I had her. A senior now, and still think I’m a ravenclaw :D</p>
