IGETC confirmation

My university is asking that I get IGETC certification from my junior college. I’m having trouble contacting someone I can speak to at my JC and I’m just wondering how I would go about ordering this, excluding me physically travelling to my junior college.

Email a counselor at the JC and ask for an Igetc certification, its not that hard.

Go to the cc website, go to the counseling dept. Get the email of one of the counselors and email them your request.

contact admission and records. My guess is that, like at my school, you have to submit an application for certification then they’ll review your courses before your certified.

What if you are finishing your last IGETC course next semester (Spring 12) do you email the counselor before you submit your UC application or do you email them once you completed the course (and already accepted)?

Also, does IGETC certification help your chances of getting in to a school?

No, the UC wants to know if you’re IGETC certified after you receive your final grades for Spring semester, this will basically chart a course in how your UC will assist you in choosing your schedule during the summer.

Sorry if that was confusing but your Community College is the one that IGETC certifies you…So contact admission and records of your CC for the app to fill out so you can be certified by them sometime in the spring.

No I dont think Igetc gives you a better chance, prereqs do tho!..but if a gen. ed pattern isn’t followed the UC that you choose to go to can tack on more general eds that they see fit. Completing the igetc caps those UC general ed classes at three I believe.
