Ignore ACT on common app?

I’m going to be a senior this fall, and I decided that I wanted to do Early Decision to Emory. My SAT scores were okay, but I wanted to try ACT in September/October since some of my friends scored higher on ACT than on SAT. I signed up today, but now I’m having doubts because what if I bomb it?

If i do end up failing it, can I decide not to put it on the common app since I already have SAT, or do I have to record it all?

And would doing this be considered lying?

Only one test is needed which means you don’t need to consider it to be lying.

The advantage with ACT is that ‘some’ schools which require subject tests waive them if you take ACT with writing. If you are not considering such schools, you may not need ACT.

Either way, you are not lying if you are sticking to submitting one or the other even if you have both scores.
