I'll probably be out of touch for a while after Thursday

I’m thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery!

crohns ds is a terrible thing. sending good energy for an open tube from mouth to …

Donna, all parents here on CC are all experienced care package senders. Do you need, or just plain want something that would be of comfort to you? Magazines in English, cookies, sleep eye mask, anything? I would be more than happy to make you a package, and I’m sure everyone here would do the same. Just think, the hospital staff would think you were a celebrity!

Donna and James, sending good HEALING vibes your way.

Donna, I’m late to this thread, but just wanted to wish you well in your recovery. {{{{Hugs}}}} to you and James - this can’t be easy for either of you.

Just found this thread - adding my good wishes and healing thoughts. No inflamation… cool intestinal walls… efficient cells… all systems working together… quick healing… I wish you the very best recovery. :)

Donna, I don’t visit CC very much anymore, since the days you and your son went on your trip to Italy. I hopped over to the thread that you alluded to in your first post here. What a brave person you are. Wish you a speedy recovery and may you have a long remission after this.

Prayers from CA for your full recovery.

My thoughts are with you, Donna!

Donna,
Just adding to the pile of encouragement and good wishes.

I’ve told my son (who knows James from UChi) a bit about your situation and asked him if he’d feel comfortable contacting James to offer some support. His response was “Of course,” so James should know that he has another friend at school pulling for him and you.

Donna,
I don’t post often, but your thread has touched me. I send my warmest wishes for a smooth, speedy recovery, and I congratulate you on raising a caring, thoughtful son. My best to both of you.

Donna - I was concerned that you weren’t back and I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having a difficult recovery. I hope you will start feeling better very soon.

I’m sending a hug your way.

Sending more well wishes your way.

I am so sorry you are having complications.

Just checking in again. I hope that your condition is improving. Kudos to the wonderful person who has traveled up to keep you company. You are immensely valuable to many of us. Keep your chin up and keep fighting.

Sending wishes for a full and speedy recovery your way. I know it’s not what you wanted, but if the trip to NY is not in your best interests, then it is really is for the best that you stay put. If there is any good at all that might come from the serious complications, it is that I imagine you will be referred to an excellent surgeon, if one is necessary. I hope you can get a good night’s rest and that tomorrow will be a better day.

Nothing new to add other than more good wishes and positive vibes. I’m thinking you might be having surgery today?? Update when you can. We are all thinking of you and pulling for you, and are looking forward to your intelligent updates when you are ready.

change of plans surgeons here dont want to operate hospitals been stiffed too many times before by american ins cos. for american patients. so want to ship me out of here while they still can before things deteriorate further and they have to ooperate and then stuck with me for maybe 2 wks after plus very tricky surgery technically they think im better off closer to home anyway. so i agreed to bear cost of ambulance abt 2K and around noon im supposed to be sent off down thruway to mt sinai emergency room in nyc even though no dr there has specifically agreed i doubt theyll turn me away. and hoopefully if i arrive in reasonably stable condition wont be too eager to operate since no further surgery still my infinitely preferred outcome even though still no sign of improvement. james will be waiting there from abt 6 pm until necessary this is so stressful foir him i hope hell manage ok. so god willing and hudson dont rise nyc here i come . its time to blow this town anyway after 5 days in this subterranean post-apocalyptic emergency room complex, endless corridors of writhing patients , interspersed occasionally with jackhammers and construction. thx for all good wishes love donna

I queried my friend in Montreal, she said your hospital and that part of town is very French - the language barrier probably added to your difficulties.

I am keeping everything crossed for a safe trip.

Donna,

Best of luck on your magical mystery tour on the NYS Thruway! I hope it’s a smooth and painless journey.

Haven’t you said that your GI doc is at Mt. Sinai? Won’t he/she make arrangements to admit you??

You and James are in our thoughts. Please let us know how it goes.

Donna, fingers crossed that the Hudson don’t rise - it’s looking pretty placid this morning. All good thoughts for a reasonably comfortable and absolutely safe journey to you today, and healing thoughts for today and beyond.
