<p>Does anyone else have money invested into this program? They are about 30% underfunded and I am considering using the funds I have set aside for my HS sophomore and 10 year old to pay for my freshman at the U of I because I really do not know if the funds will be there. Perhaps they will in 2 years but not sure about being there for my 10 year old. </p>

<p>Given the recent history of Illinois in meeting its obligations, I’d be VERY worried about any money I had invested that is within the desperate reach of Quinn, Madigan & Assoc.</p>
<p>Back in December, the sale of new plan contracts was halted pending further investigation into this mess. The republicans have already said they won’t approve the State guaranteeing the fund and democrats haven’t pushed the issue too hard so far. However, I’m sure neither party wants to run for re-election and be seen as the party responsible for sticking a $1 Billion tab on the unsuspecting parents - something will happen.</p>
