Illinoisans - WYSE State

Does your school have to have a WYSE team in order for you to compete?

Taking practice tests is your best bet, especially on Chemistry (the questions don’t change much from year to year).

According to their Web site:

I am guessing that they offer this accommodation to non-home-schooled students as well.

This is only for kids in Illinois?

I quote verbatim from the organization’s website:

https://wiki.engr.illinois.edu/display/wyse/Academic+Challenge

So if your school does not have a WYSE team (is that the name for it), how would I go about asking for this accommodation? Would I have to set up my own team because it seems as though the “team” doesn’t actually practice or anything and it’s just moniker for a group of people taking the test from a school, which I can assure that no one is taking it from mine?

Try emailing the coordinator for the site of your regional competition: https://wiki.engr.illinois.edu/display/wyse/Competiton+Sites+and+Dates.

OK, and although the answer might seem obvious, how does one go about finding his/her sectional site/regional site?

Do you know where I could find practice tests?

This website has all the information you need about WYSE and has old tests from each of the 7 categories.

[Exam Archive - WYSE -University of Illinois - Engineering Wiki](http://wiki.engr.illinois.edu/display/wyse/Exam+Archive)

There’s a username and password to access the tests. If your school has a team then your coordinator can give you the username and password.

So who’s taking the WYSE regional tests? I’ll be competing in Chemistry and Biology.
