<p>Is anyone participating in the WYSE State Finals this week? If so, what is your division, and which two tests are you taking? </p>
<p>I’ll be going on Thursday for the Unlimited division competition; I’m taking English and Chemistry.</p>
<p>I guess we don’t have many CC’ers from Illinois.</p>
<p>I’m from Illinois, and I participated in the first part of the competition (regionals?) but I didn’t make it. I wasn’t expecting to though. Lol.</p>

<p>My school has a pretty easy path to State (not very challenging Regional or Sectional).</p>
<p>I took Biology and English. I wasn’t too worried about the other students, I just knew I wasn’t prepared for the tests. I didn’t study or anything. Which ones did you take?</p>
<p>English and Chemistry. I haven’t prepared at all this year, though I prepared for English last year. I felt that I could have done a lot better on Chemistry, but I was happy with my English performance.</p>

<p>Bumping in case someone else wants to comment. The only remaining day is the Unlimited division finals tomorrow. I do not feel well-prepared, unfortunately.</p>

<p>^ Congratulations! How were the scores overall (i.e., what were the test difficulties)?</p>
<p>I had a 34 in math, 44 in bio.</p>
<p>If the tests are anything like last year’s, those are great scores.</p>
<p>I’m pretty satisfied with my scores: third place in English (77/100) and sixth place in Chemistry (31/40).</p>
<p>Can you please give me a description of what this program or competition is? Currently I am sophomore and an Illinois resident.</p>
<p>I have never heard of WYSE before and I am a senior… my school must be out of the loop…</p>

It’s basically this competition where you take tests in whatever area you’re interested in and the winners advance. I hadn’t heard of it before this year when my teacher asked me if I was interested.</p>
<p>I did it, didn’t place, but oh well.</p>
