to be honest it is very heavily weighted on the essays. NO JOKE concentrate more time on your essay then studying for the ACT again. I would retake the SAT, and the good thing about USC is that take a combined SAT score which means they put together all of your best scores from math, writing, etc…I got a 29 on the ACT, and 2000 on the SAT’s and I got in for the 2007-2008 school year, i just finished my freshman year. My W GPA was 4.2 but unweighted was like a 3.8 or so in highschool. I did varsity tennis all 3 years and participated in clubs, won a few tennis awards, graduated with honors, volunteered a bit, but nothing too outstanding really. What really made me stand out was my essay, honestly I believe that was the reason I got in. My grades and scores were all on the average range for the previous years admitted students. My friends who had better “resumes” then I did didn’t even get accepted in several cases.
Make sure you write your essay about something unique, they want to know that they are letting in someone who will stand out!
hope that helps!
best of luck!
