I'm a failure.

You know the rules, yeah, this is one of the hundreds of chance threads in this forum.

Here are my stats:

Michigan Resident

HS GPA: 2.87(I was a really really really really bad student). No AP’s a few Accelerated courses.

EC: Tennis Team, a member of the school’s symphonic Wind Ensemble for 4 years, Key Club, additional volunteering work.

ACT: 26

Current School: Freshman at the University of Michigan-Dearborn(Sister school of U of M-Ann Arbor, but far less prestigious). Currently enrolled in the School of Management.

College GPA: Looks like its gonna be around 3.3-3.4…taking only 13 credits this semester.

No EC’s at College

So…what are my chances for these schools for Fall 2008, OR raising my GPA to about 3.5-3.6 by the end of the year and applying for Winter 2009, OR attending another semester after my freshman year and applying for Fall 2009?

University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, LSA(My Dream…but I’m a failure…)

Michigan State University

Indiana University - Bloomington

Illinois Univeristy at Urbana Champaign

UCSD…maybe i’ll just apply here for fun.

For Umich, I have “Legacy”, if it still exists or not…My father went to U of M.

IU should be possible. MSU should be possible. UIUC should be simple as well as long as you have all the prerequisites. UM is worth a shot, as well.

You’re not a failure - believe.

I agree with openingdoors. You’re only inhibiting your chances if you keep thinking that you’re a failure. Just continue to work hard, raise your GPA, and join as many ECs as possible to increase your chances. Believe me, I’ve heard of a lot success stories about people who had poor high school records and worked hard to turn things around during college. Good luck! :)

any other advice?

Or should I stick to construction?

bumping this for a good measure.
