Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

Stats:
3.8 UW, 4.6 W
2340 SAT I, 800/750 Subjects
Lots of ECs, Ntn’l Merit Semifinalist (235)

Since I don’t have the “acted on” status, I’m guessing I didn’t get scholarship stuff…but I thought I was guaranteed something for naming USC my #1 on Ntn’l Merit??

If you are accepted, which you obviously will be with those stats, you will get the Presidential. The NMFs who are not invited for scholarship interviews, do get the Pres anyway but are informed later because no interview will be required. Don’t worry.
The very first acceptances for scholarship candidates must be sent early because interviews will take place in February and early March.

bamboozle I’m in the same boat as you, except my scores are worse than yours, lol.

I saw a thread here on cc a couple years ago where a girl who seemed pretty qualified was rejected, and people speculated it was because she was a nm finalist. My question is, do other people think that this probably would happen to me?

Here’re my stats:

3.7 UW 4.04 W
2240 SATI / 730/700 SATII (low I know…)
A med amount of EC’s but they’re all unique, and at the moment a nm semi (222).

I hope I’m not rejected cause of finalist status if I get it…

ayneenjay, i think the main reason they would reject a nm finalist is because they had below a 3.5 UW GPA. USC is really big on GPA from what I have seen and the worst thing in the eyes of a college is to see someone who is obviously really smart from their scores getting a lowish GPA because it makes it seem like they don’t apply themselves or are just lazy. i really wouldn’t worry. if you put effort into your application, it will show and you have amazing scores to fall back on

^ I remember reading on another thread that not all the Bacc/MD applicants who interviewed last year got considered for scholarships. So try not to read too much into the fact that you haven’t received a package yet. For what it’s worth, S has stats that are very similar to yours and is in the same situation – no status updates, no letters. So you’re not alone.
