<p>I am planning to go to a 2 year college next summer, exactly a year from today since I still have not gained my high school diploma for screwing up in High School. I just turned 18 BTW. It turns out the Adult ED program is a program created by said college. Anyways I’ve found out from there that the enrollment fee (I’m guessing it’s the main thing you gotta pay) is $46 dollars per unit. </p>
<p>How much do you guys think I’ll have to pay per semester? I’m gonna start working so that I can save up money to pay for it.</p>
<p>For full time students the average number of units you’ll take a semester is 12-18. Usually you need somewhere between 60 and 90 units to get an associates degree, depending on the field. If you meet with an adviser there they should be able to help you figure out what classes you will need to meet your education goals and how much it will cost. </p>
<p>As a very rough estimate:
If you just want to prepare for a GED exam, you should probably be looking at $920-$1380 or so total.
If you start at “college level” and wish to get an associates that is “vocational” and not computer related (HVAC, business, many health related ones) or if you want an associates that will help you transfer in as a junior to university, it should be about $2760-$3450.
If you start at “college level” and wish to get a “certificate” in something, it can range wildly, but be as low as $414.</p>
<p>If you’re wondering how that stacks up, nationally, that’s a relatively good price. Local CC here charges $92/credit last time I checked.</p>
<p>Not sure what your state’s cost for units at a CC is but id say around $500-$700 including the unit cost and books well that was how much it costed my brother and he’s taking 4 classes,also the price varies depending on if you buy new or used books.</p>
