I'm going to visit michigan..

i’m thinking the weekend of april 8th ~ april 9th
i would like to go on the 13th or 14th because of the engineering day but i live in california and i just don’t have time
is there a place where i can stay near campus for a relatively cheap price?
i don’t need nice service or anything, just two nights to stay, preferably close to ann arbor amtrak station.
also, i would like to know if there’s a cheap place near detroit airport which is also close to detroit amtrak station.

Are you going alone or with your parents? If alone, then you can just stay in south quad with my roommates and I and we’ll probably charge much less than a hotel.

hahaha…how sketch is that.

Come stay w/ random CC friends that you meet online. Don’t do it riyam. I know chibears…super sketch-ball. O:-)

KB

Lmao @ Chibear!!!

oh yeah, that’s me. Heard of the Ann Arbor canine killer???..me neither…muahahahahaha

Actually, I was planning to visit Ann Arbor, too, and I found [this Motel 6.](http://www.motel6.com/reservations/motel_detail.asp?MotelId=1247&state=MI&full=Ann%20Arbor&city=Ann%20Arbor) It’s nice, it has a pool…and stuff, and if you book online, it’s $41/night; otherwise, it’s $45 (at least for the dates I was planning to visit).

Which is really nice. You’ll have to be with a parent though, check-in age being 21.

It’s 3-4 miles to UMich, that’s all I know about the location.

Yeah, i’d recommend staying off-campus, there’s parking lots downtown and meters, if you have a car. It’s much cheaper.

Motel 6 is okay, probably the least expensive chain motel to stay in Ann Arbor. I haven’t stayed there but I drive by frequently. It’s pretty deserted around there by night, not a lot of foot traffic.

There really isn’t a hotel close to the Amtrak station. If you want to stay right near campus, the choices are Campus Inn or Bell Tower, but both are pretty pricey.

Campus Inn was very nice… I was there for two nights during Shipman weekend. Also, I was there alone, so that might help… Yeah, probably not going to be very cost effective.

zoogies / i just called that motel 6 and they said check in age is 18. i just booked a room for 4/13-4/14, 2 nights for $79.98. thanks a lot for that information.

You might try the Lamp Post Inn. It’s not expensive, it’s a bit closer to campus - and it’s in a nice neighborhood. 734-971-8000 If you don’t mind walking, you could walk to campus in about 40 minutes.

4501 South Quad is still probably the most the most cost-effective option…I mean…I’m not lonely.

yo, if you guys need a place to stay, kenny (kb - lives right above my boyfriend and around the corner from me), mike (lives in south quad) and i are more than happy to host you. that’s what most colleges do. i’m sure the other two would vouch for me, too. i am female, for those of you who are, too, and i live in east quad. kenny has a pretty nice room, as do i, but mike’s is nasty and he lives with three other people.

let us know if you need a place to stay :)

lmao…thanks for volunteering my room.

rolls eyes

oh beckster.

Correction to Becky’s post–for those of you who are female, the preferred dorm room tends to be Mike’s (and company). And for your info becky, it’s not nasty. It has character.

for those of you who are female.

…come on now chibears…come on now…

I’m just stating fact, brother. if we took a long-run average from the first day of school, I’d say our room averages 1.1 girls sleeping here per night. The ladies just love the place, man.
