I’m planning on applying online. When can I submit it?

The common app will be available early August.
The deadline for ED1 is Nov 10th.

Start by creating a GW Admissions Activity Center account.

If you don’t mind me asking, what are your stats, areas of interest?

Best of luck,

Stock

definitely apply early decision 1. it really increases your chances. i know someone who had better grades and scores from my school and didn’t get in to GW. so i really think it helped me.

If financial aid is not your problem, definitely do EDI - which is in early November (you have lots of time since the CommonApp will be out much earlier than the deadline).

I’m planning on majoring in political science- pre law track

I still do not understand if financial aid is not a problem- you can apply ED? I need FA but I really want to apply for FA. Would I have to wait?

Okay, so this is what we mean by what you’re confused with.

When you apply ED (whether I or II), you sign a deal with the school that if you get in, you’re definitely going there. That means that regardless of your financial aid package, you must attend; not very often, they allow students to breach that contract if lack of financial aid from the school is the reason. This you must prove, etc. GW is obviously an extremely expensive school. If you cannot afford it on your own, then you would need to see how much money you are getting before accepting an offer of admission, right? Personally, I could not afford GW without the aid I have gotten, so I could not apply ED and bind myself to the unknown. But, if you are lucky and your family can afford such an education, then you go ahead and apply ED if it’s your #1 school, since you would not have to worry about money problems.

Oh, okay. I am thinking of doing the AF and AFROTC during college, so I should not have to worry about FA. And if I don’t do the AF it is because I got accepted to the paid summer internship I wanted to do which pays me 21,000$ a year for tuition. So either way I’d be getting some money it just all depends if I get accepted to that internship. But I would still want to go to the FA and see how much I can get with grants and such. I think my school is having a FA day for parents sometime in Sept.

I’m not really familiar with any of the programs you mentioned but it’s good to hear that you have it covered. Less things to worry about :] Do talk to a FA rep from the school, yes!
