I think I have a little advantage or disadvantage in college admission because of my race. I’m half Japanese and half Iranian, and came from Japan to the U.S a year ago. My race Japanese is pretty disadvantageous in college admission because of affirmative action while my other race Iranian is categorized as a white and gives me an advantage. But, I heard double ethnicity was also advantageous feature. Which should I call myself, a white or a person of mixed parentage?

Definitely a person of mixed parentage.

I’d go with mixed.

Thanks for your answers.
I will choose mixed race.

Yes, you are of mixed race, but please note the correct terminology:

The only ethnicity that is marked on college applications is Hispanic, you are not Hispanic.

Japan and Iran are countries of origin, not races. Your races are Asian (Japanese) and white (Iranian).

I sometimes use words without deeply thinking of them. I’m so shameful that I have misused “ethnicity” so far. Thanks for your advice.
