First, my TA has decided to leave right before our final grades are due. I have had the flu for a good two weeks–its been absolutely terrible. I just received the homework he graded of mine and there are grading errors that bring me to a 12/20 instead of 16/20 for the most recent assignment! Homeworks are worth 20% of the grade in this calc class. i also have one last homework that i was supposed to give him today (which was due in class on Friday) but I was in and out of the hospital all week. I emailed him and asked if I could drop the homework off during his office hours on monday but he never responded–i went to his office hours today and another guy was like…hmmm he went back to china on a literary tour. I understand that TAs have lives too but I was just blown away that he didnt mention this to anyone in section nor in the email response. What should I do about this homework grade?? i cant afford a 0 or a 12/20. I just went to the professor during his designated office hours and he’s not there either! Also, do you think its possible to get a B- in this class? ![]()
homework-20%: *60%
midterm 1-20%: *70 and the average was 85 (standard deviation of 15 points)
midterm 2-20%: 50 and the average was 62 (standard deviation was VERY wide)
now the final is worth 40%. if i do average on the final is it possible to get a B-?
I heard the professor curves to a B/B+

You should talk to the prof about it.

he hasnt been in his office during his designated office hours
i guess i’ll shoot him an email. the final is this wednesday

You should’ve have dropped off your homework in the prof’s office and then emailed him to confirm receipt. Also TA’s come and go, there should be new TA contact info posted somewhere.

I hope things are better now!
