I'm legally disabled and I went back to college to get a degree and go back to work.

My question is Does being a work study student will affect my disability benefits? I know work study salary is considerate an income and I’m concerned about it. thank you for any advice

There’s probably a Disabled students ombudsman or advocacy office at your college. Maybe try there?

I think this article from 2004 discusses a question similar to yours although it describes it as “SSI for students with disabilities” (is that the same as Social Security Disability Income?).

The article explains that when a student is earning federally funded work study income, it is excludable from consideration in SSI calculation.
