To clarify, i’m transferring OUT because it’s all women. it’s rural and single sex and SO BORING. is it okay to say that in my essay? that’s pretty much the only reason…

You need to say it in a much nicer way. No one likes negativity. Something along the lines of:

In my time at MHC, I have come to realize that I am happiest in a more urban setting.

or

I believe that I would prosper better as a student in a college/university that offers fill-in-names-of-facilities-and-activities that are unavailable in the smaller setting of MHC.

or

Fill-in-college/university-name-here offers a stronger program in my major field / offers the type of internship opportunities / etc. etc. that I am looking for.

I certainly think you can say - as happymomof1 pointed out… it needs to be in a non-negative way - that you want the enrichment of a coeducational environment.

I went to a women’s college myself and the debate raged then as to the pros and cons of women-only colleges. During my time, the formerly all-male schools (Yale, etc.) opened up to women and several of my classmates transferred over. It is a valid reason for transfer in the opinion of many.
