I'm really enjoying this martini

Am at the hairdressers. I brought her a bottle of Absolut citron for the holidays. She is a big vodka fan. I am drinking a diet coke.

Hear, hear! People should drink what they enjoy, and how they enjoy it. I’ve always felt that scotch tasted like dishwater, so I don’t drink it. Doesn’t mean others can’t disagree.

Just came back from the wine thread. It’s time for me to make a nice fruity concoction. And I don’t mean fermented grapes. I’m thinking flavored vodka and lemonade. And I’m gonna enjoy it! :D

kluge - I thought of this thread over the holidays, and you in particular, when my niece’s boyfriend made me a Gingerbread Martini. :)

JustaMom - Back in college I think we called vodka and lemonade a “Toad”. I don’t know why we did, but I think we did.

We keep a bottle of Bombay Sapphire in the lower left corner of the kitchen freezer (a great tradition from DH’s family). We don’t have martinis at home often but when we do, they are so good! The gin is wonderfully cold. Recently DH has decided he like to use olives stuffed with blue cheese. We had a jar of almond stuffed olives recently - I liked those. :)

I don’t “get” Scotch. We keep a bottle on hand for one or two of DH’s friends but I don’t understand the appeal.

Sipping a martini, and had to revisit this thread

I keep a little vodka in my freezer too, but it’s strictly for making pies. I also have vodka in my fridge which I use to preserve ginger.

The only bourbon I can remember drinking is “Old Granddad” when my boss became a granddad back in the early 1980s.

Since the last trip to Scotland I’ve come to enjoy single malt whiskeys. We like the 18 year Highland Park and Balvenie 12 year Doublewood. DH likes Talisker, but I think it’s a little too peaty.

Mostly though, I just stick to wine.

Making pies with vodka? How? Please share, lol…
