I'm really panicking someone please help me!

Ok so I havent had the best high school career. as i said in an earlier post, i fell off due to some personal issues. but improved vastly my junior year. (gpa of both semester was a 4.3 unweighted)
i checked my school account to find out i have a 2.7 academic gpa and a 3.6 unweighted
im terrified and i know that wont be enough to get into usf’s summer term. is there anything i can do?? or is it too late? i plan to send in my info nov 1st!

Recheck the USF admission checklist for minimum admission requirements. Make sure you have met all the minimum test sub-scores required for USF admission…if you haven’t, retake SAT and ACT tests asap to get scores up. Get the highest GPA you can for your fall term. If necessary, cut back or quit after school activities or sports to work as much as possible on your studies. You will likely be deferred initially so USF can see your fall grades. Send you application in now, not Nov., unless your test scores are so bad that you are afraid you’ll be denied immediately and not deferred. Earliest applicants have a better chance for admission I think than later applicants. Remember USF does modified rolling admissions.

Few freshman applicants get into any of Florida’s public universities with GPAs under 3.00. Get your grades and test scores up. As a back up, be prepared to spend your first two college years at a community college and then transfer to USF. Applicants for USF’s upper division nursing school need college coursework GPAs of 3.65+…get cracking! Too get your high school adviser to help you with your college applications and choices.

Good luck!

Your GPA figures sound a bit weird. On an unweighted 4.0 scale, what is your GPA? There is the matrix located at http://usfweb2.usf.edu/admissions/pdf/counselor-grid.pdf</a> that will help you know if you will be admitted. If I were you, I’d keep working hard in school and really cram for the SAT/ACT tests. If you look at the charts, you can see that a higher SAT score will significantly increase your chances of being admitted. It may be too late to change the past, but at least you can show that you are indeed a valuable student to USF via your test scores.
