I’m scared that I don’t have any money for college and I signed up for FAFSA but I summited it and I missed something and I didn’t knew until tonight and i don’t work and my family believed that i have FAFSA money and i can’t sleep. I’m afraid to tell my parents that I have no money and I was reading online about the “promise” free community college and I don’t know if it true and if it works for my college
Plz dont judge my writing I not really good with English grammar
What college are you planning to attend? The FAFSA is an application that’s used to determine eligibility for a Pell Grant. What is it you’re missing?
My parents signature
And I applied to riverside city college
If the form needs your parents’ signature they have to sign it so the form will be processed. They should be verifying the information anyway.
What state are you in? Is this for a 4-year college or a community college?
I’m really screwed
A community college and I’m in California
And I didnt know that was missing because I send one in and but I had to make some correction so I need a new signature thing I think?
@Gumbymom will know what CA grants you might be eligible for. And @kelsmom understands the FAFSA.
If your family income makes you eligible for Pell then I think you receive it. You do have to complete the paperwork though. Did your parents help you fill it out? How did you know what information to put on it?
Yeah I did it with the school but I finish and summited before it was due but I didnt know about the signature until today.
I don’t understand. Your parents gave you their financial information (income, bank account balances, etc.) and someone at the college helped you set up a FAFSA account and showed you how to compete the form?
Your parents signature just verifies that the info. is correct. How did you find out it got sent back for a signature? Does it say how to add it? When we did ours we were able to sign online.
I checked online and I showed I have no parent signature and I can’t sign online I don’t have that option and I remember that my parents signed it and my school counselor sending it for me
Yes my school counselor helped then there was the error of my graduation date was not put in and I fixed it and I send it back in before June 30 it was like around June 20th because I didnt knew there was an error until later on and I dont have internet so I had to wait until I get to my brothers house that has internet for me to fix it in the computer
And it had the drn
You did this through your high school or the college? Your parents should be able to see the file on their account. Are they US citizens?
High school and my parents are us citizens but does not know any English or how to use the computer I do all of it
Low income
Did you complete a paper form or did you do it online? This is from the FAFSA website:
If you have a FSA ID, then you should use it to sign your application electronically…To sign your application electronically, click the Login button on the FAFSA on the home page to log in, and then click the Provide Signatures button. If you don’t have an FSA ID, you can create one.
Or you can print a signature page, sign it, and mail it to the address on the page. Your application will be processed once your signature is received.
If you submit your FAFSA without signatures it will be partially processed without the signatures, but in order for your FAFSA to fully processed you’ll need to get it signed.
I complete the paper form for the signature and did the rest on online
