schools:
NYU Steinhardt
Fordham Rose Hill
FIT
Emerson
Northeastern
UMiami
USC (major reach, i know)
…and any other schools you recommend. no boonies for me. i’m a city girl. I also need more safeties.

You teach fashion? I don’t get it. Anyways, I’m in a similar boat as you. if you can get your 1600 score up into the 1300s, Fordham and Northeastern should be pretty sure things. Miami would also definitely be in your range and you could probably get in now. I’m not too familiar with the others.

Anyways, you may want to look at Boston U (which, would be in your range with a 1300 or so), Loyola in Chicago, Pepperdine, etc. There are also schools that aren’t in huge cities but still are in small cities with good atmospheres like Wisconsin and Illinois.

There are a lot of schools in Tampa Bay, which is a beautiful city, that you should take a look at for safeties. They tend to be easy to get into, so they may be a little low, but I think they’re good safeties for you. USF has about 40000 students and is right in tampa. It fits your safety range somewhat well.

Don’t discount some of the smaller cities. Even cities like Tampa Bay seem to get overlooked, but you should definitely look into them, there are some real gems.

I teach fashion design to them. How to draw, sew…

Thanks for the suggestions. I think Miami is the only school I would consider going south for and USC the only one I would go west for. I want to stay in the big cities in the northeast.
