Im so scared!

I’ve been taking Dr. chung practice tests and ive been getting 1-5 wrong per section. I got a 700 on march SAT. Im taking it again in May. Getting 5 wrong in 1 section is a lot, i can understand 1-3 wrong is fine since its harder. I do feel like I have a lot of weak areas. My number weakest areas are combination and permutation/probabiltiy, I’m also pretty weak in rate problems especially when I have to add them up and manipulating with some varibles. I understand 3/5 of the Dr.Chung tips. I reviewed the Gruebers book really well for March SAT except for 3 sections that i completely skip which are rate, probability, and graphs. What should I do to optimize my score, I really want a 750. Should I review Gruebers and forget about Dr.chung because I believe I forgot a lot of tricks already. I also feel i got a little lucky on the March SAT i guess 2 questions and got both guesses right.

Don’t worry too much about how you are doing on practice tests other than the blue book or ones put out by the college board. If you are always missing ONLY the rates and permutation/probability problems, then I would actually argue that it’s a good thing because you are consistent and you know what to focus on. As far as “tips” go, it depends on what kind of tip. If it’s a really gimmicky tip, it’s not going to help you and like you said you will keep forgetting them. The only tips I go for are the ones that are based on helping you understand the material better.

Here’s my recommendation:

Do a bluebook test and see what you get

See what you missed and why. i.e. carelessness/calculation mistakes or is it one of your known problem areas?

If it’s a known problem area, go through whatever books you have and read the reviews for those types of problems, i.e. something that teaches you fundamentally how to better understand and approach them because someone/something(book/course/tutor) has to teach you because it probably means you are still having trouble. If it’s carelessness, continue to practice with the bluebook and/or other books you have.

Hope this helps and good luck!

thank you very much for the help

You’re welcome!
