Umm…ok, as far as “I’m the only Harvard applicant who”…I’ve won National Awards from the American Red Cross and was the National Convention Youth speaker in 2004.

yeah, im good now. never mind. sorry. and even though im not a harv applicant yet, i will be. i can touch my tounge to my nose. and im pretty decent at trivia.

I don’t like the Red Cross. They are demanding to be taken to where we are holding the terrorists, wut the freaking hell?

Dha_3000 Wth?

What are you talking about dha?

Dha?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

LOL. I thought people knew about current events lol. Have you heard that the Europeans want to have access to the secret US prisons? Ah nevermind lol

I keep up with current events. I agree with Europe. but DHA why does everything turn to partisan politics with you?

Ha! It does seem that way w/ DHA_300 doesn’t it? I was on this other thread, and he was arguing about the merits of Canada and Michael Moore’s influence on politics or something. Very… interesting to say the least. I just think s/he should leave that stuff out of CC (unless of course there’s a thread dedicated solely for that). Does anyone else agree?

I agree. DHA, you turn every innocent comment into a debate.

sigh so… about Harvard admissions. What do you think you were the only applicant to do?

I think I was the only applicant to send in my CSS Profile a little late. I hope it doesn’t hurt my chances!!! :(

I’m the only Harvard applicant to live in who had horrendous grades in 5th grade. (88 korean, 54 math, 28 social studies, 16 science) TOP THAT!!!

It is because everything comes down to politics. The majority of our policies, guidelines, rules and even ECs have all to do with politics. The things you believe in also directly align themselves with politics. Power (political influence) and money run this world. If you disagree, you are hiding from the truth.

well basically a sort of elitist theory there which i would say is true to some extent. power(i wouldn’t necessarily say political since a lot of bureacrats influence a lot of power) and money r the key really.

DHA, it doesn’t matter if it all comes down to politics. No one wants to debate every little issue with you. But that is what ends up happening most of the time. When someone posts something like “I’ve won National Awards from the American Red Cross.” They really don’t want your comment saying that “I don’t like the Red Cross. They are demanding to be taken to where we are holding the terrorists, wut the freaking hell?” That comment is no way useful to anyone. But the way you used could have easily sparked a debate.

Amen I couldn’t have said it better :)

I’m the only harvard applicant who…

would probably be thought of as a joke if i was accepted…?

haha.
the smart kids (most) are mean at my school …
they think they’re super cool just cause they all get accepted to UVA ED (my HS is a magnet for that place!).

lol UVA is a joke in-state esp for ED. UVA is even a joke in-state for RD. just get 3.9+ GPA and 1500+ SAt and ur set even with no ECs.

seriously imiracle! but hey… you dont even neeed a 1500+ SAT…at least at my school, just as long as you have a good GPA/rank, you can have a 1100-something and youre in.

UVA is good place, but still…

imiracle…i got 13 Fs in the fourth grade! <– I’m almost proud of that.
