I'm trying not to get my hopes up, so chance me!

<p>GPA: 3.91 W, 3.7 UW (This is outdated, though, I need to recalc. 3 grade-weighted As were added to my GPA over the summer. Can’t find my transcript though. XD)
Class Rank: 33/357 (There’s people with 90+ GPAs who still aren’t top 25% at my school.)
PSAT: Merit Semifinalist, and I sent in my packet, so Finalist looks likely. :slight_smile:
ACT: 35
AP: 3 on World History, 4 US History, 4 Chem, 5 English Language, none this year because…
Course Schedule: This year, dual enrolled in local community college and high school. Taking a full 15 credit hours.
Involvements: Theatre, theatre, nothing but theatre! Oh, and Historian of National Honor Society.
Essay Topics: Growing up gay in a military family, contrasting my experience of drinking with a Hollywood movie.</p>

<p>I’m alternating between being an Optimistic Olivia and a Debbie Downer, so I just want a realistic statement. lawls.</p>

<p>You have not provided enough information but unless you have an undivulged hook you are doing the right thing by not getting your hopes up. </p>

<p>Make sure you have some less competitive schools on your list. Don’t let the very nice ACT score of 35 lull you into thinking you have great chances at any top school.</p>

<p>Thanks for the honesty. If Yale doesn’t happen, American University is where I’m going, most likely.</p>

<p>I’ve already gotten into UT Austin, so I always have a back-up.</p>

<p>Oh: I forgot to mention. My poor AP English teacher was so startled by my essay about drinking she spent 9 hours trying to “undo the damage” of the essay, despite the fact that both a hired admissions helper and every other teacher I had said it was great. Apparently, it’s a phenomenal letter of recommendation.</p>
