Okay, I’m a white male at a prep high school in Chicago.

ECs: Editor-in-Chief, Founder, and writer for a school magazine (non-fiction, reviews, humor, puzzles, etc)
Editor-in-Chief of school lit magazine
Track (Outdoor and Indoor) for ~ 3 years (two years varsity)
Exchange to Germany the summer after sophomore year
I’m a Peer Leader this year and I volunteered in the neighborhood for all of sophomore year.
Plus, I can supplement my application with some comix from what is essentially an independent study with an art teacher at school.

GPA: Kind of low at ~ 3.45 (big upward trend from a 2.8 freshman year to possibly a 4.0 this year)

SAT II: 800 World History, 620 Chemisty, HOPEFULLY something good in Literature

SAT: 800 M, 800 CR, 800 W

Will that 2400 carry a lot of weight in spite of my mediocre grades? I’m applying ED I to Vassar, maybe ED 2 to Wesleyan or Williams. Would I have a chance?

Also:
AP: 5 in World History
5 in Art History
5 in US History

I dont know, but I can tell ur a smart kid who is a bit lazy they will probably pick up on it, cus ur chem score is bad for you, cus you actually have to study for that subject, but I think youll get into vassar.

A 3.45 might be terrific if your school is known to be rigorous in grading–meaning very tough to get As.
Kids at my son’s prep with that GPA and those grades would likely be applying to Ivies and/or top LACs and most will get in

It is fairly rigorous… The extreme case is that of the girl with a 3.00 who got into williams.

maybe should bump?

a 2400 implies a very intelligent person, which you seem to be. However, such low grades also imply that you are lazy. SAT 1’s are a test of mere intellect while SAT 2’s are a test of preparation. However, I do believe that Vassar should accept you.

What if I implied that I was a character from a Wes Anderson movie? You know, that Max Fischer bum.

I suppose you’ll make it to Vassar…
