I'm worried that I messed up big time. HELP!

So I had an alumni interview with GW, and I think it went really well, but when they asked me the “why GW” question, I talked about their international economics program and their mount vernon campus and how that was attractive to me because I come from a small town and would give me a more close to home feel blah blah blah. On my application though, I only applied to the Columbian college for Economics, and didn’t say anything about the Elliot school for international economics. Will they see these two things as not adding up, or will they just think that I changed my mind about what program I was interested in between my interview and application submission. I’m really worried about this, so can anyone give me some insight.

I wouldn’t worry too much! They probably interpreted that you have a general sense of what you want to study (economics) but you’re still exploring the different options available. You don’t have to declare your major for a little bit so anything you say now isn’t set in stone.

Just relax. None of this is anything to worry about. They don’t expect you to have your mind made up. Plenty of us have not yet.
