<p>Just because a nation looks good doesn’t mean it is not harboring terrorists. Anyone who thinks that we are not doing missions into Iran now secretly is a fool. I don’t think we will do an Iraq style nation building type mission into Iran, if we go against them, it’s all out war, as Tehran hates us and our way of life. All this being said, any formal war into the former nation of Persia won’t be until 2009 at the earliest</p>

<p>Actually, just last week, Iran arrested two Al-Qaeda-related operatives who were receiving covert aid from the U.S., involved in the bombings in southeastern Iran. </p>
<p>Through the Rumsfeld Handshake, the U.S. through its client Saddam Hussein killed half a million Iranians, and engaged in the use of poison gas.</p>

<p>I don’t see why it wouldn’t be his choice…Iraq was a unprovoked, voluntary war (and illegal at that). </p>

<p>Oh here we go with the snarkiness. I don’t know what the news is like anywhere but here on earth and it is quite clear on this planet that the Iranian regime is arming some of the attacks in Iraq.</p>

<p>Heck, Canada could bomb us tomorrow if it so chose. One can’t always speak for another sovereign nation. I happen to be of the opinion that the Iranian regime is already at war with us. Just not the full-scale ground troups variety. One can disagree, as I’m sure you willl, and that’s just fine.</p>
<p>Of course, the irony is that the mainstay of the the current Iraqi government is SCIRI, closely tied to Iran and being supplied by arms from Iran. (Indeed, the channel for the Iranian IED’s being used to attack Americans is Iran to SCIRI to the black market to Sunni insurgents…in Iraq, <em>everything</em> is for sale). The captured Iranians ballyhooed in the press were in fact advisers to SCIRI, if not the formal Iraqi government per se.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Afghanistan festers with too little resources, we turn a mostly blind eye to Pakistan’s tribal areas where OBL, the Taliban, and Al Qaeda all have deep routes, and we’re out to lunch about the Salfist elements in North Africa, though thankfully the French and Italian intelligence agencies at least are paying close attention. Possibly we are doing something okay in the Horn of Africa sideshow…hard to tell. But with so much of our military and other resources tied up in Iraq, we’re in a tight spot. Too bad Iraq didn’t have a thing to do with the so-called war on terror and that to the extent it now does it’s because of the mess we’ve made there. </p>
<p>Time to blame the ungrateful Iraqis, I guess.</p>
<p>But I have great faith in Bush’s capacity to make yet another blunderheaded move that damages the US even more by attacking Iran.</p>

<p>True. And we’ve armed both Saddam Hussein and Iran when it suited our purposes. And then act outraged when things don’t go as we expect.</p>

<p>True to form, Mini speaks for our enemies. Iran may arrest these guys for variety of reasons. Al Qaeda operatives receiving aid from US ? Are you for real?</p>

<p>Remember he doesn’t have to load them up in a nuclear missle. There are plenty of proxies terrorist who are willing to deliver them to our shores.</p>
