I just dropped my daughter off to take the SAT.

What time should I plan to pick her up?

One-ish anywhere between 12:45-1:15

Depends on the testing center when they start etc

Thanks, I was planning on being there at 12:15 so this is helpful.

Be prepared to wait. Each individual room starts at whatever time the proctor has everyone in and seated and accounted for. When my D was taking SAT IIs, one girl forgot her tape recorder, and the whole group had to wait an hour for her mom to show up with it. And they switched rooms on them twice, which meant walking back and forth the entire length of the building. D only took 2 SAT II tests, so I was panicking when she hadn’t called by 1:00. Finally finished around 1:45, and we all felt really sorry for those kids taking a third test.

That was nice that they waited for the girl who forgot her tape recorder!

Unfortunately this is at a test location with no parking and it’s also a 30 minute drive from here, so the pick up will be a bit tricky.

I will take a cell phone, park somewhere and wait for her to call – but I didn’t think of this as a method until after I got home from dropping her off…

Try waiting for the phone call in a bookstore with a yummy hot chocolate (topped with whipped cream, of course), if possible. No reason why waiting can’t be a pleasure.

Ellemenope, you are brilliant. LOL

remember your d will be starving and tired after the test, so having a sandwich/ drink ready for her in the car would be a nice touch.

Unfortunately I was only on my way when my daughter called (15 minutes out), so she was not pleased to have to wait (stress of the situation spilling out and not too pleasant).

I did have food in the car but she was intent on McDonald’s, so we drove 40 minutes for some nuggets.

She seems to have recovered some now, we went out so she could pick out a movie and she is joking around with her sister.

For future reference, she was done by 12:40. Despite what was posted at CollegeBoard, students were permitted to use mechanical pencils.
