I use mine to make applesauce. Very smooth. Like baby food. I have a no-name brand that I am waiting for the motor to burn out. I have the Cuisinart waiting in the wings. I like the idea of using it for deviled eggs.
I thought that by “lock” it was meant that the attachment was not staying securely attached to the blender. Glad it was not the case!
