Immunization Coercion?

I wonder, are there certain nations that don’t get the chicken pox like we do here? And if SOME are getting immunized, that means the likelyhood if getting chicken pox when you are younger will decrease, and if you get it when you are older, egad…that is bad news

my H didn’t have chicken pox as a child, nor did alot of his family (back in Ireland) and TWO got it when they were older…very painful indeed

Whoops, saw your earlier post.

good question CGM

Sounds like its mainly a northern hemisphere thing- as Southern Hemisphere populations may have greater concerns with more virulent diseases, but also it sounds like the virus is not as prevalent in Southern Hemisphere
( doesn’t explain your husbands experience though)

From WHO

The Lancet study stating there was a correlation between autism and thimerosal was one of the most flawed studies in recent history. There were 13 authors, and 10 of them, renounced the finding. The person in charge of that study has a vested interest to prove the cause. He picked people who he knew already had autism or something like that. In countries which don’t use thimerosal are compared to countries which use thimerosal in vaccines, there are no differences in autism rates. When you compare countries which use low versus high levels thimerosal in their vaccines, again no difference. The increase in autism rates has to do with better diagnosis and the inclusion of asperger’s syndrome into the category. Any way, FDA is requiring that all vaccines be thimerosal free shortly.
We know the old Small Pox vaccine has bad side effects, and that is why a new one is being studied and was recently approved by the FDA. The CDC stockpile is probably all the old vaccine, but over several years, they will phase in the new vaccine.
To find the efficacies of various vaccines, you have to go to the FDA. You can see the original approval rates. To find the long term data, normally studies are conducted to determine length of immunity. There is a debate on whether another pertussis vaccine should be given in high school. It appears you do need two shots of varicella for it to have lifelong immunity. Old Vaccinia last for only 10 years; we don’t know about new vaccinia.
If anyone gets harmed by a vaccines in the U.S., VICP will compensate you and your family.

What bothered me about the article is that it is not impetus enough for the kids to be kept out of school - they have to threaten to lock the parents up and fine them. What does that say about how important education is to parents in PG County?

Emeraldkity, this website describes HBV epidemiology well:
