I got my scores today and all of them in 600s… is it going to be a big deal in the admission process? I never did well on the SATs… am I screwed?

this post is useless without giving the rest of your stats and the schools you are applying to

Ivy Leagues and other top schools in the Northeast.

Not so competitive school in Mississippi

GPA-4.0
Rank-2/237
ACT-30 math-34 science-31 English-27 reading-26 essay-7 (waiting on Dec. Score)
SAT II- U.S. History 680 Math II 630 Physics 640(lol)
APs: 8/9 in my school, the reason for not doing well on the physics is probably because I havn’t learned half of it in class and taking it online currently. I studied the prep book though.

ECs-
President of one club
tutor
leadership conference
many other minor ones
babysitting my cousin-10h/w
working for my parents because of financial issues-25h/w

Essay: one about working for my parents and one about how much I love physics(my score will probably make this look bad)

Background:
First generation
Low income <40,000
Asian(here for 7 years)- Apparently not the smart one…

The biggest problem would probably be that they’d call into question the rigor of your school, if you do really well in your classes but not as great on national standardized tests. But you’ve already indicated that you go to a not very competitive school, so I guess your rank and grades may mean less. Your background and location would compensate for that to some degree, but being Asian won’t. You’re not screwed necessarily, but your chances aren’t that great either.

Since you took the ACT alot of schools dont even recquire sat 2 including some f the ivies
so i would just not send them

yea, i didn’t send it to those subject test optional schools. I thought of retaking it in Jan., but I won’t bother anymore. I spent a week studying physics using the prep book and it was a pain. I don’t want to go through that again.
