<p>I just read in this mornings paper about the implementation of a waitlist throughout the UC system, beginning with Class 2014. What do you think will be the impact? Article from Daily California Online below.</p>

Initially, they will accept fewer Freshman, in order to avoid too many students accepting spots and not enough dorms, classes, etc to accomadate them. That has happened a few times recently, and given the UC’s current financial situation, that is the last thing they need to have happen. I’ll also bet that if there are any spots open after the May 1 decision deadline, places will be offered to full paying OOS students over in state Calif students.</p>
<p>I am not so sure if this is the first time.</p>
<p>UC Irvine had a waitlist last year for its fall 09 class…</p>
