<p>Thanks for posting this one. I’m a transfer and any acceptances I receiver are going to be very staggered-- two of which I won’t hear from until after the May 1 enrollement deadline of the other schools. I know I’m going to have to put down a deposit on one school before May 1 and then risk losing the deposit and a little respect if I get a better offer later.</p>

<p>speakingez–Colleges sometimes have later enrollment deadlines for transfers or will be more flexible about granting extensions than they are with first-year students. So it doesn’t hurt to ask if you can get an extension so that you don’t have to make a deposit by May 1 (if you’re hoping that you WON’T be attending this school). However, if you ARE granted an extension, make sure you get it in writing. (Email is fine … doesn’t have to be signed in blood. :wink: )</p>
