Impacted Classes (is that the right word?)

<p>This is rather specific (I suppose people can get in their own questions about the hard to get into classes) (is it just impacted majors or are they called impacted classes as well?). How hard is it to get into the first year popular language classes (aka Japanese 1A)? I was advised to sign up for the class during the first “round” (I can’t remember his exact word) of signups. Can someone explain these “rounds” (or whatever they’re called)?</p>
