Impacted Majors

Does anyone know which majors at Princeton are impacted and which are not?

Thanks
Elizabeth

Once you’re at Princeton, no majors are impacted (i.e. they have GPA cut-offs for who can do the major). Starting soon, however, the Finance certificate will have minimum requirements, because too many people do it and because the University wants to encourage students to look beyond I-Banking and the like.

Admissions are slightly different between BSE’s and AB’s. I don’t know the specifics, but you should be able to give them some idea of why you’d tentatively prefer to major in one subject versus another. In other words, it looks strage if you’ve been a B-student in Math your entire life and suddenly wish to become a Math and Physics major.

Throughout all of this, remember that you don’t declare your major until the end of your sophomore year (end of freshman year for BSE’s), so you have time to change your mind.
