I’ve been looking online for what it even means. Say you have an impaction score of 3000 and major A(arbitrary major) has a minimum admit impaction score index of 2900, would this mean I would get guaranteed admission into major A? Other people say that the minimum states the bare requirements to be even considered for admission. In this case, what is the point? The thresholds are released after the deadline passes to apply. If your score was lower, then you never had a shot, but if you didn’t apply, then you definitely wouldn’t have a shot.
Why not email them and ask. From what they list online, you can’t tell. Others here will answer but I would get my info directly from the school.

The minimum impaction score does not, in my opinion, ensure admittance. According to what I understand, the actual admittance decision is based on the applicant pool that year, but it’s more like a cutoff used to evaluate who is competitive or eligible to be considered. The fact that the deadline isn’t known until after applications are filed is undoubtedly the perplexing aspect.
Impaction score is retrospective and tells you what was sufficient in the past, not what will be sufficient in the future. So not a guarantee

The listed impaction scores are the competitively determined thresholds for the prior admission cycle. Applicants who met or exceeded the thresholds in that admission cycle were admitted. The competitively determined thresholds for the upcoming admission cycle could be different, depending on the volume and strength of applicants for each major.
