Impacts of Double Transfer

Hello College Confidential! Long time lurker, first-time poster.

I’m a Computer Science student at a small community college in Texas. The school recently made significant cuts to the department that left the program understaffed with uncaring professors that are under-preparing their students. There are also some other issues there that I won’t go into, it’s just… bad. I’m currently looking at transferring to our area’s satellite campus of the University of Texas. My ending transfer goal is to get into A&M or UT Austin, but I don’t think I’m competitive enough to get in this early.

I’m a rising sophomore transferring in with straight A’s so far, so I’m worried about those credits not being considered when it comes time for transfer applications again.

I was wondering what kind of impacts this change would have on my transfer strategy. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

are you worried about keeping your credits, or how transferring twice will look? Your final school (UT-Austin/A&M) will decide what they do or don’t want to take. As for transferring twice, it worked out for me. I went from a CC->large state school->Stanford with admission to several top 10 ranked schools
