Importance of academic awards?

In the college admissions process, how important are academic awards? My school only hands out one for the “top” student. The thing is, classes aren’t weighted in deciding who wins so the winner ends up being someone in the easiest classes. Does this put this person at a huge advantage in top college admissions over people in harder classes who are doing slightly worse?

And by “harder”, I mean Honors as opposed to Regular, or even something like Regular Algebra II vs Honors Precalculus (which would normally be taken after Honors Algebra II but some qualified students skip that class).

School level awards are not generally valued highly at more competitive schools, but it depends. Would someone from another state have heard of it? In other words, don’t stress out about it, I doubt it matters

Course rigor is a major factor in admissions at most colleges, awards are not, especially inschool awards.

You can make up for it with achievements in other areas! Testing, ECs, awards… Also, schools do look at the rigour of your transcript. If your grades are in the ballpark, don’t worry about someone cruising and getting better grades than you.
