Hi, I am a rising senior. I took the ACT last fall and got a 35. However, my writing score was a 26 (93 percentile). I am not sure if it is worth retaking to boost my writing score. Do highly selective colleges factor in the essay enough for it to be worth it?
No. Essay is worthless this year to colleges. Plus if you are retaking essay, your highest score can now only be a 12. There are other ACT Essay links on this site that explain how the ACT (my words here) rendered their essay irrelevant because of painfully uneven and misunderstood scoring. Colleges care about your essay for them.
