Importance of Rec Letters

Hi! I recently found out that my teacher wrote that I argue/“fight back” while receiving criticism in the rec letter form. Should I be concerned? The letter is VERY good, she talks about our personal connection and that any school wouldbe lucky to have me. Any opinions?

IMO, this would show honesty in the rec letter, maybe an AO would trust the compliments even more? If it is otherwise very good, I wouldn’t be too worried. Maybe write about your growth from this (if this is true) in your short answers or essays, that would be a green flag to the AO’s because you are admitting to your weaknesses and are very open-minded about it.

Thank you! Yes, in one of my essays I’m going to talk about failure and criticism and even though it’s hard it helps me, and that sort of thing!!

Not necessarily a bad thing, depending on how it is put forward. But how did you get access to your rec letters? Usually they send directly to the schools.

My teachers don’t speak English and didn’t know how to send the letter. I tolde them that I shouldn’t be able to read them but they said that it wasbetter if I did so I could give any suggestions.
