So I’ve written an essay about my passion for colors, and my last paragraph addresses the fact that the college essay, unfortunately, has to be submitted in black and white. I was suggested by Hope2getrice to use font colors in this last paragraph. Can I? And can I also add in a picture at the end with a caption? I’m not going into an artsy stream though…

Secondly, since I have chosen ‘Topic of your choice’, should I title my essay?

Lastly, can I give some footnotes in a small font size?

I’m not sure if they even use color ink to print out the apps. It would definitely be different though. Just keep in mind not to use a tacky rainbow sequence or blinding neon colors. I think if there’s someone all adults hate, it’s blinding neon colors. Maybe just do something subtle, like emphasize one word with color. Uh, what picture were you thinking of using…?
I also chose topic of choice and titled it. It’s your decision though. If you can’t think of a creative/fitting title, then I would say go without.

I didn’t use a rainbow sequence, but I use a billion other colors in two words in my last line “brilliantly colorful”.

Here’s the last paragraph:
I must admit that it bothers me that this essay has to be submitted in black and white because the thought of packaging and marketing myself to a prestigious institution in greyscale reminds me of the advertisements one ignores by habit in the classified section of the newspaper. However, I have learnt that if the content of the ad is brilliantly colorful in its own way, even the most fastidious of customers cannot resist.

In my essay, I highlighted that my love for colors was developed by graphic designing and photography so I added in two photos and a graphic design I made. (at the end)

I must admit, this is one of the best essay topics I’ve ever heard about. I love the creativity. I think it’s fine that you used colored font for those two words, but like fantastical said, they might use black and white to print out the applications…The photos I think were more of a risk, couldn’t they just be in an art supplement apart from the main essay?

I read on the commonapp Help topics that it was fine if one wanted to attach an image in the file… They just had to put it onto the MS Word page. I’m not really going into an artsy major (I have shown a lot of interest in business) so I didn’t think it was necessary to have an art supplement… I hope they won’t think I’m audacious in a bad sense… Oops XD
