Important Question?

When you get accepted to a college, and when you start taking the mandatory classes, how is the ranking system measured? Does everyone start with a clean slate, a 4.0. or does everyone have their previous GPA’s from Highschool?

Help???

clean slate… I think its actually a 0.0 GPA since you have no grade points to average

Yeah, it doesn’t make sense to me to have everyone’s GPAs be randomly different entering college.

To add on to the OP’s question, is AP credit factored in to college GPA at all?

At my local college it gets added to the transcript as a Pass (P) grade, but is not factored into the GPA.

No, shiftyeyes. But colleges do prefer a 3.6 in all APs than a 4.0 in normal classes.

I presume that it is a clean slate considering that some people do not have GPAs (for example I am applying from a school in England).
