Improve SAT reading???

Hi, i’m an international students. I really suck in the critical reading section. Although i tried to read some novels but i didn’t seem to work?
You guys, especially native speakers, pls give me some advice on how to improve my reading skill???

Read newspaper and magazine articles.

Mark any words you don’t know and look them up in a dictionary.

Make up your own sentences using the new word.

Mark the theme or main point of the article.

How does the author tell you in advance what he’s going to tell you?

Is this the best title for the article? Could you write a better headline?

Mark the topic sentence in every paragraph. Usually it is the first sentence, but sometimes it’s the last. Occasionally, the topic sentence is buried in the middle.

How does the author structure his piece? Is this the most effective way for him to make his point?

How does the author prove his argument? What is the evidence?

What kind of details does the author use to support the premise of the article?

Does the author have a bias for or against the subject?

Do you agree or disagree with the author?

Do you trust what the author is saying? Why or why not?

How does the article make you feel?

Did you learn something new?

Are you more or less interested in the subject than you were before?

How does the article relate to your own life?

The point is to read actively and read every day.

I would listen to GrammarGuy because he got an 800 in CR on his SAT. Thanks for the information; I’m going to utilize it.
